The idea behind Eatokra was as impactful socially as it was practically. The app would enable users to search for Black-owned restaurants to support and feature Black business owners and Black culinary professionals.
Eatokra would amplify all users’ dining experience in a powerful—and incredibly delicious—way. The app would connect the dots on missed culinary experiences, while also acting to equalize opportunities for Black eateries and culinary influencers.
The founders of Eatokra came to Jafton with over 9,000 restaurants just waiting to be discovered by a bigger audience. Those Black-owned restaurants were almost entirely in New York, NY, but would also include a national network. The dining experience across the US would be reimagined if the app were done right.
