About project
The JOKR team wanted to make smarter grocery shopping a cinch for everyone. They wanted to minimize waste, grant easy access to healthier food, and support local. Many said they couldn’t “do it all.”
The first iteration of JOKR was halfway there. Then, to build the app into their full vision, they started contacting app developers. Jafton project managers impressed the JOKR team with their knowledge and accessibility, so the two teams became one to complete the “big picture” of JOKR’s vision.
Project overview
JOKR contacted Jafton to refractor old code and then add new features to that code. The JOKR team felt ready to fulfill their original vision for the app, but they didn’t have the in-house developers to do it. So, the augmented their staff with Jafton developers.
Strategy
JOKR had to start with refractoring old code. Jafton developers were joining the JOKR team to handle the transition.
Staff Augmentation
With code updated, Jafton developers embedded it with new features. This was done in partnership with JOKR to meet their vision.
Developing
Technologies like Swift coding language were used in the development of the updated app. Regular briefings kept work on track.
Testing
The JOKR app underwent Jafton's rigorous testing, which is an ongoing part of multiple agile iterations during and after development.
Design
Key new features we built into the JOKR app to power instant delivery, quality selection for best-sellers and top local brands, retail pricing that matches the local supermarket, and sustainability optimizations behind every click.

Navigation
Thanks to the development work by the Jafton staff working with JOKR, the responsiveness of the app increased in a big way. The simplified navigation gained instant positive feedback from users of the app. Even with new features added, navigation was simplified, streamlining the UX for buyers and sellers.
