About project
Urban was an answer to a call from communities with a need. In cities around the UK and France, busy metro schedules and even busier workdays made something as simple as booking a massage or beauty treatment a complete drag. Logistically, it was a luxury to even get to one. Urban saw the need and created a user-focused platform where people in London, Manchester, Birmingham, or Paris could book to bring the spa or clinic to their front doors.
The app would need to be as intuitive for users as it would be for providers. The team’s work was cut out for them, but Urban’s mission was clear.
Project overview
The founders of Urban contacted Jafton because of the team’s extensive experience building booking apps. This mobile app would streamline the beauty booking process and give time back both to consumers and providers, while creating a whole new market of in-home beauty and massage services.
Strategy
Urban would help providers customize the client experience. With the calmest environment possible (a client’s home), service would reach a new level of relaxation.
Design
The Jafton team came with tons of experience with scheduling apps, but Urban added something new: the chance to popularize a new service in major metros.
Developing
Technology including HTML 5, Google Analytics and Google Fonts were used to develop Urban.
Testing
The Urban app underwent Jafton’s rigorous beta testing, which is an ongoing part of the many agile iterations during and after development.
Easiest booking workflows
Booking on the new Urban app is easy. Users choose from one of more than 50 services and then select the perfect pro based on user reviews and their choice of criteria. And, just like in ridesharing apps, when a provider is en route, the user can track his or her progress in real time.
